CORBIN, KY. (ABC36 NEWS NOW) – A Whitley County man has been arrested for allegedly impersonating a law enforcement officer in Corbin.
According to the Whitley County Sheriff’s Department, 53-year-old Stephen Smith was taken into custody after deputies say he pretended to be an assistant constable and stopped two girls riding a golf cart on Forego Trail in the Tattersall community.
Deputies say Smith displayed a badge and threatened to issue the girls a ticket. He was arrested shortly afterward.
The investigation is ongoing.
