(WKBN) - Flight reductions go into effect Friday to ease pressure on air traffic controllers who are working without pay during the government shutdown.
The Pittsburgh and Cleveland airports are not on the list of airports expecting flight reductions. The FAA is reducing air traffic at 40 airports at major hubs like Atlanta, Denver and San Francisco.
The change could lead to disruptions for travelers who wind up at one of the affected airports. Lynda Lambert, a spokesperson for travel group AAA, suggests being prepared and consider using a travel advisor.
