LYNN, Mass. —
The Lynn, Massachusetts, community is shaken following a violent attack on a store clerk on Halloween that left the victim with serious injuries.
New surveillance video obtained exclusively by NewsCenter 5 shows the assailant jumping over the counter and repeatedly punching the clerk at the Richdale Store on Chestnut Street.
According to the store's owners, the suspect walked in and bought a bag of chips, but was acting strangely and hung around for "a long time."
The suspect eventually leaves but returns five minutes later, trying to return the chips.
The owner said the suspect asked for black and mild cigarillos instead, but refused to show ID when the clerk asked for it.
That's when an argument began.
