ROANOKE, Va. (WDBJ) - The Roanoke Women’s Foundation held its annual grant awards luncheon where they awarded money to other non-profits in our hometowns.
The Foundation is a non-profit made up of 223 members who donate money to enhance the quality of life in our communities.
They awarded over $400,000 in grant money to six nonprofits in the Roanoke Valley.
“When we can pool our money together and do something that makes an impact, that could be a very life changing experience for that nonprofit, it’s just really exciting,” said Vice President, Dawn Erdman.
Erdman said the organization has awarded over $6 million to non-profits in the Roanoke and New River Valleys in the last 21 years.
