LAREDO, Tex. (KGNS) - U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) officers seized more than $16 million worth of narcotics hidden in a tractor-trailer at the Colombia-Solidarity Bridge.
The seizure took place on Wednesday, November 4, when a CBP officer referred a box truck hauling plaster vases for secondary inspection at the Laredo port of entry.
Following a canine and nonintrusive inspection, CBP officers discovered 1,792.79 pounds of alleged methamphetamine hidden within the commodity. The narcotics have a total street value of $16,026,546.
CBP officers seized the narcotics, and Homeland Security Investigations (HSI) special agents are investigating the seizure.
