EVANSVILLE, Ind. (WFIE) - Thursday marks 20 years since part of the Tri-State was hit by a deadly tornado.
During the early morning hours of November 6, 2005, a tornado touched down near Smith Mills.
The tornado became a violent F3 and crossed the Ohio river.
It then ripped across Vanderburgh, Warrick and Spencer Counties.
It left a 41 mile path of destruction and killed 25 people.
Most of the deaths happened in the Eastbrook Mobile Home Park.
20 people died in the park, which is now known as Waterford Pointe.
The National Weather Service says the November 2005 tornado is still the deadliest November tornado on record in Indiana.
