NEW HAVEN, Conn. — A deadly Halloween weekend shooting in downtown New Haven left one teen dead and several others hurt. In a press conference Thursday afternoon, police said they’re making progress in the case.
Police identified the victim as 18-year-old Alexa Acevedo. Two 21-year-old men and a second 18-year-old woman were also found shot but are expected to survive. Police believe the women had nothing to do with the situation.
Chief Karl Jacobson says they believe at least two shooters were involved in the incident. No arrests have been made in the case.
“My own daughter was downtown until 12:30 that night so this is something that’s personal to all of us here,” said Jacobson.
