TRENTON, S.C. (WRDW/WAGT) - Crews responded to the scene of a house explosion on Airport Road in Edgefield County, according to the Edgefield County Sheriff’s Office.

A witness told News 12 that a home exploded around 4 p.m. Thursday, and it was so loud she thought her home had been hit.

She says the home is “completely gone.”

Around 5:15 p.m., Sheriff Jody Rowland said the agency would be on scene “for some time.”

According to the witness, two people live in the home.

Earlier, in Aiken County, a dead body was found in a house fire in Monetta, according to authorities.
