NEW RIVER, AZ (AZFamily) — Deputies say a family is safe after their home went up in flames north of the Valley.
Crews were called to the intense blaze just before 2 a.m. on Thursday at a home near Honda Bow and New River roads in New River, just east of Anthem.
According to the Maricopa County Sheriff’s Office, everyone inside was able to escape safely alongside five of their dogs. However, several others are believed to have run away after escaping the flames.
Firefighters eventually contained and extinguished the fire. Investigators suspect the blaze started in the rear patio and may have been caused by oxygen tanks, adding that nothing was deemed suspicious.
No residents or firefighters were injured, according to Daisy Mountain Fire & Medical.
