Almost a decade after it opened, the Saks Off 5th store on McKnight Road — the outlet chain’s sole Pittsburgh-area location — is closing in January.
An official at The Block Northway shopping center in Ross Township confirmed the closure on Thursday over email. The Saks Off 5th location opened there in fall 2016.
“We appreciate their many years as part of The Block Northway community,” said Jamie Pavlot, director of experience.
Saks Off 5th is the discounted, “off-price” outlet arm of the upscale Saks 5th Avenue chain based in New York City. The chain operates roughly 100 stores across Canada and the U.S.
Shoppers go to Saks Off 5th in hopes of getting a deal on luxury items. Its pilot store set up shop in Franklin Mills, Pa., back in 1992, but was then called Saks Clearinghouse.
