Forty major airports across the country are facing a 10% cut in flights starting Friday, Nov. 7, and continuing throughout the federal government shutdown.
Though Reno-Tahoe International Airport is not one of the 40 airports on the list, the ripple effect of the flight cuts could result in delays at the Reno airport, Reno airport spokesperson Nicolle Staten told the Reno Gazette Journal on Nov. 6.
"While these reductions are concentrated at the nation’s 40 largest airports, Reno-Tahoe International Airport (RNO) will experience some ripple effects, because many of our routes connect to those markets," Staten said. "We are closely coordinating with the FAA, TSA, CBP and our airline partners to minimize disruptions and maintain safe, secure and reliable operations."
