NEW ROADS, La. (WAFB) - A barbershop owner is launching a food pantry to help families in the area during the holiday season.

Stevie Lynch, who owns Lucky 7’s Barbershop on New Roads Street, said he was inspired to start the initiative after hearing customers’ stories about tough times.

“Being in here, we get to talk to a lot of people. So we hear the stories of how times are tough for everyone,” Lynch said.

The barbershop has been at its current location for about a year. Lynch said the shop’s success motivated him to give back to the community.

“We’re successful here because of the community. They come here and they give us a business,” he said.
