Iowa investigators may have violated the rights of dozens of student athletes in a sweeping online gambling probe that rocked the state two years ago but they are nonetheless entitled to immunity, a federal judge has ruled.
U.S. District Judge Rebecca Goodgame Ebinger has dismissed the lawsuit brought by numerous Iowa student athletes who were accused of using online gambling apps, suffering consequences ranging from NCAA suspensions to criminal charges.
