CHICAGO (WGN) - A mural that honors 12 men from South Chicago who gave their lives in Vietnam will be restored.
The mural, titled South Chicago's Vietnam Veterans Mural, is located at 91st and Brandon in the city's South Chicago neighborhood. It has been a neighborhood staple for more than 40 years.
The mural honors 12 Mexican-American Vietnam Veterans who did not return home.
A campaign launched within the last year to restore the mural has been reached.
Three companies doing business in the neighborhood are helping the effort of reaching the $100,000 goal to make it happen.
