If the Seattle Mariners have it their way, Josh Naylor will be holding down first base in the Pacific Northwest for 2026 and beyond.

After landing in Seattle at the trade deadline from the Arizona Diamondbacks, the Mississauga, Ont., native acquitted himself well in his new uniform, emerging as a middle-of-the-order bat for the AL West champions.

Despite moving to the pitcher-friendly environment that is T-Mobile Park, Naylor’s production improved during his time with the Mariners. The 28-year-old posted an .831 OPS with nine homers and 19 stolen bases in 54 games following the trade, helping Seattle surge into October with a 39-27 second-half record.
