NORTH KANSAS CITY, Mo. -- One person is dead after a shooting at a pharmacy in North Kansas City Thursday afternoon, according to police.

The North Kansas City Police Department said that at around 3 p.m., officers were sent to a CVS on Swift Street on a reported shooting. When those officers arrived, they found one victim who was pronounced dead at the scene.

A suspect has been taken into custody, according to the police department. The suspect will not be identified until former charges are filed.

The identity of the victim is yet to be released.
