SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (Dakota News Now) - Building more affordable housing is seen by many as a noble idea. Still, the execution of one plan on Sioux Falls’ north side has neighbors, the city, and the developer all pointing fingers at each other.
Those living in the homes and those nearby are having problems with the city of Sioux Falls.
The owner of Archery Outfitters, Kim Messter, owns a large wooded area backing onto the affordable housing cul-de-sac at Oberg and Walnut.
“Been a nightmare from day one. City hasn’t enforced the developer to finish anything. It’s been ongoing for now five years; two years ago was the last time we had a meeting,” Messter said.
Messter’s biggest concern?
“We got into erosion. To eliminate that problem, they were supposed to put in a retaining wall,” Messte
