ORLANDO, Fla. – As the federal government shutdown continues, thousands of Transportation Security Administration (TSA) officers across the country are feeling the financial squeeze of missed paychecks.
At Orlando International Airport, the hustle and bustle continues as travelers move through security lines — but for many TSA employees, each shift brings growing uncertainty. They’re showing up to work, even though their paychecks have stopped.
“Knowing on Friday I didn’t get a check is when it starts to hit,” said Walter Penn, a Transportation Security Officer in Orlando.
