INGLEWOOD, Calif. (KABC) -- A student was stabbed in the shoulder by another student Thursday morning at a high school in Inglewood.

According to the Inglewood Police Department, four students at the school, formerly known as Morningside High School, were involved in some sort of physical altercation.

"One student used a pocket knife and stabbed another student in the shoulder, causing a non-life-threatening puncture wound," read a statement from police.

The student who was stabbed was taken to the hospital and another student was taken into custody.

Morningside High closed in June, but Inglewood High students are temporarily using the campus.

No further details were released. The incident remains under investigation.
