Former Canadian women’s hockey national team star turned Vancouver Police Department Const. Meghan Agosta was one of the notable onlookers at a Thursday media conference to unveil the expansion PWHL “Vancouver Goldeneyes” monicker.
Also notable was the extended conversation that Goldeneyes coach Brian Idalski struck up with Agosta in the midst of all the goings-on at the Coal Harbour Cactus Club.
Could Agosta, who is one of the best players this country has ever developed, be keen on a return to the game at the age of 38? She admitted that was part of her discussions with Idalski, and she sounded like she’s going to give it serious thought.
These are early days for the concept. Thursday was the first time she had met Idalski. But there is an interest level there.
“I would love to play.
