Gunfire erupted Wednesday after former Lakers player Christian Wood fired several rounds during an attempted home invasion in Sherman Oaks, LAPD tells NBC4 Investigates. Police said people were inside the one when a group of people tried to break into the house on Otsego Street by smashing the back door at around 1 p.m.. Wood, who was inside the two-story house, confronted the would-be burglars before running outside and firing 3 to 4 rounds at the ground, police said. The suspects were scared off and fled in a vehicle in an unknown direction.
