The Northern Lights are expected to put a show from Nov. 6 to Nov. 7 with the magical light display possibly being visible in 24 states thanks to a G3 solar storm.
While New Jersey is not one of the states listed by NOAA'S Space Weather Prediction Center, the boundary that aurora borealis will be visible stretches all the way down into southern New York and northern Pennsylvania. This leads some sky watchers to be hopeful that lights will be visible in parts of North Jersey.
The cause of the lights is a powerful eruption of solar material and magnetic fields resulting in one of the largest geomagnetic storms of the year, according to NOAA.
