UPDATE : November 6 at 3:00 p.m.
According to the city, the power outage was traced to an individual shooting birds off primary electrical lines along Cobb Road, hitting and damaging a wire.
The wire did not completely sever, preventing a more extensive outage and further safety hazards. The line crew has since repaired the wire and restored power safely.
The city reminds the public that tampering with or discharging firearms near utility infrastructure is extremely dangerous and strictly prohibited.
MILTON-FREEWATER, Mont. – An emergency power outage in Milton-Freewater is scheduled for Thursday, November 6, from 8:00 a.m. to 9:00 a.m. to repair a high voltage wire along Cobb Road, the city announced.
