EVANSVILLE, Ind. (WEHT) - The night of November 5 and early morning of November 6, 2005 seemed like just another night for Robert and Karla Heath. Robert was asleep at their home in what was then the Eastbrook Mobile Home Park with their twin sons. Karla was on her way home from work.
"I stopped in to get some food to take home," recalls Karla, "and as soon as we got home, I don't know. Something didn't seem right."
What didn't seem right was the evolution of one of the most significant severe weather events in the Evansville-area. The Heath's were watching severe weather coverage from News 25 and Chief Meteorologist Wayne Hart. Robert credits Wayne's warning for getting him and his family to safety. "It didn't take much for us to get out," says Robert.
