What is this team?

They can’t hold leads. They’re getting out-chanced, even when there are nights like Wednesday where they are outshooting the opposition.

The 2025-26 Vancouver Canucks really are in trouble, just 15 games into the season. The future is in trouble too. That’s just such a damning thing to write, to contemplate. It’s not fun to think or say.

But here we are, once again contemplating a team that just isn’t all that entertaining, and in the end just isn’t good enough.

To be sure, there are some decent personalities in this club. There are players such as Brock Boeser and Marcus Pettersson and Drew O’Connor who are clearly good guys, whose pride is always evident.
