RIO LINDA, Calif. —
A Rio Linda residence was destroyed by a fire on Thursday, according to the Sacramento Metropolitan Fire District.
Crews responded to the fire around 2 p.m. on G Street near Dry Creek Road. Initial reports indicated there was a man and three dogs still inside.
Sac Metro Fire said crews arrived to find a "significant" fire, and the response transitioned from offensive to defensive when it was determined that all occupants, a woman and three dogs, were out of the house.
Images from LiveCopter 3 showed extensive damage to the property, which was surrounded by other structures, but Sac Metro Fire said crews were able to contain the fire to the building of origin.
Firefighters remain on scene and are working to fully knock down the fire.
