ST. MARTIN, Miss. (WLOX) - For many high school athletes, keeping good grades is a task tougher than their sport. However, when you see Taylor Hartzler’s workload, it’s easy to see how academics are the easy part.
The St. Martin senior is a cheer and soccer captain while on track to be this year’s valedictorian.
Hartzler says it wouldn’t be possible without the support of those around her.
“It is definitely hard,” Hartzler said. “It is a lot on me and my body, but I have a good support system with my coaches, friends and family. They make it easier.”
Hartzler’s not done balancing school and sports. She’s committed to Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College, where she’ll focus primarily on soccer.
