HUNTINGTON, W.Va. (WSAZ) - Amid the government shutdown, airlines are the next on the list to start feeling the impact.
The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) announced they will be cutting air traffic nationwide starting Friday.
Forty airports are facing flight cuts , but both Huntington Tri-State Airport and West Virginia International Yeager Airport are not on the list. However, that does not mean they won’t be impacted by flights.
Huntington Tri-State Airport sent us this statement:
" At Huntington Tri-State Airport we continue to operate all scheduled passenger and logistical flights on time, and currently do not anticipate any delays or cancellations attributable to the federal government shutdown.
Our airlines, ground-handlers and airport operations remain fully staffed
