PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) – If you travel to the Oregon Coast, there’s always a chance you will see something washed ashore. This week, that something could be a humpback whale.
The juvenile whale was spotted on the beach in Neskowin, Ore., on Tuesday.
Marine Biologist Carrie Newell of Whale Research Eco Excursions said the whale was 28 feet long and likely two years old.
In a post on social media, Newell shared that the whale also appeared to be malnourished and may have died of starvation. • A juvenile whale was spotted on the beach in Neskowin, Ore., on Tuesday, Nov. 4, 2025.
