DECATUR, Ill. (WAND) - More public electric vehicle chargers are coming to the Soy City.

The City of Decatur said on Facebook that EV chargers are coming to the Decatur Civic Center, Decatur Public Library, Fairview Park and Nelson Park.

Two Level III chargers will be added to the first row of the east Civic Center parking lot, two Level III chargers will be added at DPL and Nelson Park, and four Level II chargers at Fairview Park.

Level III can fully charge an EV in about 45 minutes, and a full charge from Level II usually takes six to eight hours, according to the City.

The project is fully funded by grant funds from the Illinois EPA, Ameren Illinois and the Illinois Department of Transportation.
