The history of the NJSIAA Group Championships can be traced back to 1919, when the competition was just a single meet.

The current format, which began in 1979 for boys and 1982 for girls, features six group champions for both genders after multiple iterations over the years.

Saturday’s meet will be another edition of one of the state’s most legendary and storied athletic competitions.
