LOS ANGELES, California — Television host Jimmy Kimmel has transformed the backlot of his show into a donation center to help families affected by the funding freeze on the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) linked to the ongoing federal government shutdown, he announced on Instagram this week .
In announcing the launch of the “Jimmy Kimmel Live Big, Beautiful Food Bank,” the host said the effort was created to help families struggling as the government shutdown halts SNAP benefits.
“Cutting SNAP benefits creates uncertainty for American children, seniors and families,” he wrote on Instagram.
The donation center, located on the show’s Hollywood backlot at 6901 Hawthorn Ave., is open weekdays from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. and benefits the Los Angeles Regional Food Bank and St. Jo
