TUCSON, Ariz. (13 News) - The potential ripple effect of canceled flights at busy airports becomes obvious when looking at the arrivals and departures at Tucson International Airport.
The vast majority of flights involve Phoenix, Los Angeles, Denver, Atlanta, and others on the list of affected airports.
The impact weighed on the minds of people starting trips from Tucson to elsewhere or visitors who knew they would have to return home.
“I’m a little concerned about getting stuck,” said Rick Starry, who was just beginning a week-long vacation to New Hampshire.
His trip would take him through Atlanta and Boston during the government shutdown that has air traffic controllers working without pay.
