As the government shutdown continues, it's forced some of our local first responders into an emergency of their own.
Youngstown Air Reserve Station civilian firefighters aren't being paid and Captain Philip Lucarell of the Liberty Township Fire Department says it's getting down to the wire.
"It's gone on so long some of these guys are kind of, you know, struggling to get gas money etcetera," Lucarell said. "Not everybody has you know, the means to work and keep the cash flow coming in and they're getting zero from the government," he said.
Lucarell recognized the struggle and sprung into action to try and put this fire out because he said YARS civilian firefighters are always lending a helping hand.
"They are always on our mutual aid for every fire, like they show up to the entire coun
