GREER, S.C. —

The Federal Aviation Administration is reducing air traffic at 40 major airports starting Friday, affecting travel plans across the country.

According to NBC News, Greenville-Spartanburg International Airport and Asheville Regional Airport are not among the airports that will see their number of flights reduced by 10%.

"The markets that we serve here at GSP are in those top 40 airports," GSP spokesperson Tiffany Cherry said. "We're seeing our standard operations, so our normal wait times and our normal tower operations, but again, air traffic from around the country could have impacts here at GSP."

NBC News reports airports such as Atlanta, Charlotte, Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport, and Miami, which connect to GSP, are affected by the FAA's decision.
