Katy Perry sings about trying to save a dying relationship in her revealing new song, “Bandaids.”
The 41-year-old singer — who split from Orlando Bloom , 48, in June after nearly a decade together — dropped her new song and its music video on Thursday. The lyrics and video appear to give a glimpse into the end of her relationship with Bloom.
“Hand to God, I promise I tried / There’s no stone left unturned,” she sings. “It’s not what you did / It’s what you didn’t / You were there, but you weren’t.”
“Got so used to you letting me down / No use tryna send flowers now,” she also sings. “Telling myself you’ll change, you don’t / Band-Aids over a broken heart.”
In the song’s second verse, the lyrics hint at the steps she took to try to fix the relationship.
