HARLINGEN, Texas (ValleyCentral) — Daytime high temperatures will be pushing at least 10 degrees above normal throughout most of the Rio Grande Valley Friday and Saturday. Highs are expected to be in the low to mid-90s instead of the low 80s.

Help is on the way, thankfully. A robust cold front is set to slide south across Texas and drop temperatures statewide by Sunday. Here in the RGV, temperatures will fall slowly throughout the afternoon on Sunday, setting the stage for a cooler start to next week. Monday morning lows will be near 50 degrees, while afternoon highs won't get out of the upper 60s.

With any luck, the northerly winds will keep daytime highs below normal through Tuesday. Enjoy!
