Police said they arrested a 24-year-old Bronx man on Tuesday, Nov. 4, for the rape of an unidentified 15-year-old girl and appealed to other possible rape victims to come forward if they recognize him.
They said the Bronx Adult Sex Crimes Squad arrested William Credle of the Belmont section of The Bronx at 11.37 p.m. on Nov. 4 (Election Day) for a prior rape involving a 15-year-old girl. Asked for details of the prior rape, police did not provide them and simply reiterated their request for other rape victims to come forward if they recognized the man.
They said that in the case involving the 15-year-old victim, he has been charged with rape, unlawful imprisonment, assault, sexual abuse, and harassment. He is deemed innocent unless and until convicted in a court of law.
