LAS VEGAS ( FOX5 ) — Nevada lawmakers are preparing to be in Carson City for a special session that could start Nov. 13, FOX5 can report.

Senators and Assembly members are booking flights and hotels in preparation to be there in person, lawmakers confirm to FOX5 News.

The legislators are awaiting the governor to declare the special session. The Governor’s Office confirmed this week it will happen this month.

The Governor must set the agenda for a special session, and lawmakers can only act on bills within those parameters.

The Governor’s Office confirmed that lawmakers will address the gap in SNAP benefits for 495,000 Nevadans. The Governor’s Crime Bill and public safety legislation are also expected on the agenda for lawmakers.
