RALEIGH, N.C. (WNCN) — The Trump administration has been ordered to by a judge to provide full SNAP payments for November despite the government shutdown. While people wait to receive payments, even food banks are feeling the strain of the shutdown.
Thursday, U.S. District Judge John McConnell ordered the administration to do this by Friday. The ruling is in response to a challenge from cities and non-profits complaining that the administration was only offering to cover 65% of benefits.
The ruling to replenish funds fully has a quick turn around that has the attention of local non-profits.
