MARION COUNTY, Fla. – A report of a reckless driver led to a deadly shooting on Thursday evening, according to the Marion County Sheriff’s Office.

In a release, deputies said that they were called to the 8200 block of SW 49th Avenue Road in Ocala around 6:05 p.m.

“While en route, deputies were advised that a shooting had occurred after an altercation between the driver and another individual,” the release reads.

Upon arrival, deputies found a man who had been shot, and he later died at the hospital, the sheriff’s office announced.

“MCSO Major Crimes detectives are continuing the investigation, and the shooter has been taken into custody,” the release continues.
