BOISBRIAND — Alex Mercier and Teddy Mutryn each had a goal and two assists, and the visiting Moncton Wildcats pounced on the Blainville-Boisbriand Armada with three first-period goals en route to a 6-1 Quebec Maritimes Junior Hockey League victory on Thursday.
Matthew Virgilio, Simon Binkley, Kuzma Voronin and Gabe Smith also scored for the Wildcats (8-4-2-0), who led 3-0 after the first period and 5-1 heading into the third. Caleb Desnoyers also chipped in with two assists.
Torkel Jennersjo scored for the Armada (11-5-2-0), who were outshot 30-29 at Centre d'excellence Sports Rousseau.
The Wildcats went 1-for-4 on the power play, while the Armada were 0-for-4.
