Sensex Today: Indian equity markets extended their losing streak to a third straight session on Friday, though the benchmarks managed to recoup most of their early losses amid selective buying in large-cap stocks.

The Sensex and Nifty fell as much as 0.75% in early trade before staging a partial recovery. The 30-share BSE Sensex finally closed 94.73 points, or 0.11%, lower at 83,216.28, while the NSE Nifty 50 slipped 17.40 points, or 0.07%, to end at 25,492.3.

On the Sensex, Bharti Airtel, Tech Mahindra, Trent, Reliance Industries, and HCL Technologies were the top laggards, while Bajaj Finance, Tata Steel, Bajaj Finserv, Mahindra & Mahindra, and ICICI Bank led the gainers’ list.
