Five teenagers were arrested Thursday and accused of vandalizing a middle school campus in Santa Rosa, police said.
Sunday, the police department was notified at around 10:45 a.m. about a vandalism at the Herbert Slater Middle School campus on Sonoma Avenue, which had closed in June, according to authorities.
Officials said district employees and police discovered that multiple rooms on the campus were vandalized, with some of the damage including trash bins and furniture being knocked over in the girls' locker room and a bathroom stall door that had been ripped off the hinges in the boys' locking room.
The list of damages also included a broken skylight in the weight room, a torn theater curtain, a damaged television and trash thrown throughout the wrestling room, according to police.
