FORT WORTH, Texas — The state takeover of Fort Worth ISD is ramping up , and parents are raising serious concerns about what lies ahead.
During the first of two community sessions hosted by the Texas Education Agency on Thursday, officials outlined the next steps in the state’s plan to intervene in the district, a process expected to reshape FWISD for years to come.
Inside the packed auditorium at Polytechnic High School, emotions ran high. Dozens of parents voiced frustration and fear about losing local control.
“We do not want a hostile takeover, which is what this is,” one parent said.
“I do not think that this is the help that Fort Worth ISD needs,” another added.
