(KRON) -- Police said a Petaluma man admitted to being under the influence of methamphetamine after officers discovered him "completely nude" in the Washington Square shopping center Wednesday.

Petaluma police said they responded to the report of a man "exposing himself to passersby" in the shopping center. Police said a drug influence evaluation confirmed the suspect showed signs and symptoms linked to narcotic use.

"Multiple witnesses at the scene reported that the subject had been actively masturbating in public view," said police in a news release.

The man, identified as Sean Foster, 38, was booked at the Sonoma County Jail where he faces several charges, including indecent exposure and under the influence of a controlled substance.
