GRAND RAPIDS, Minn. — Kittson County Central cruised to a Minnesota 9-man quarterfinal win over Cook County on Thursday.
Between seven first half scores, it was an onslaught that the Vikings had a hard time managing.
It took just 17 seconds for the Bearcats to make their mark. Ashton Knutson took the first handoff from scrimmage 70 yards to the endzone.
“It was just the play that we had drawn up and it worked out," Kittson County Central head coach Cory Waling said. "Once those backs get out in space they are hard to bring down. We’ll take it. A goal of ours to play for a section championship and we’re going to the Bank."
Kittson County Central now moves on to U.S. Bank Stadium for the semifinal round. KCC will play Hillcrest Lutheran Academy in the state semifinals at 4 p.m.
