New Delhi: A 22-year-old student from Alwar in Rajasthan, pursuing medicine in Russia, was found dead in a dam in that country on Thursday. Ajit Singh Chaudhary was reported missing from his hostel in Ufa on October 19.

His family has sought assistance from the Indian Embassy in getting his death investigated and sending the body back home from Russia. ADVERTISEMENT

Chaudhary was from the Kaphanwada village in Alwar’s Lakshmangarh. He travelled to Russia in 2023 to study medicine at the Bashkir State Medical University in Ufa. His family had reportedly sold their land to fund his education and are now seeking answers from the Russian government.
