Warning signs of burns that need A and E as NHS issues bonfire weekend alert View Image
The NHS have taken to X ahead of Guy Fawkes weekend - warning everyone attending fireworks displays to “stay safe”. Their officials have issued guidance on how to know if your burn needs professional treatment.
Their post stated: “Over bonfire night weekends, the NHS website information on burns and scalds gets about one visit every 30 seconds. If you need it, you can find first aid advice and information on when to seek treatment for burns on the NHS website.”
Every year, thousands of people end up in A&E for firework-related injuries around Guy Fawkes celebrations. Fireworks, firecrackers and even sparklers can burn at temperatures extreme enough to cause damage to human skin.
