Fast, zero-emission deliveries of retail goods might soon be launching from a Walmart near you and bound for a drop zone even nearer.
A planned drone delivery hub would position the city at the forefront of technology-driven retail logistics in the Gulf Coast region — reducing road traffic, cutting emissions and bringing goods to residents and tourists faster than ever before, representatives said.
During a city council meeting Wednesday, representatives from Walmart, Wing, and One World Strategy Group presented detailed plans for a drone delivery program that would make Kemah the first city in the Houston metro area to host the high-speed service.
